The G8 is a flight jacket developed by the U.S. Naval Bureau of Aeronautics in the mid-1950s and issued until the mid-1970s. This item is an updated version of the later model, which could be considered the culmination of the series' development. While retaining its practical specifications as utility wear, it has been modified to address all of the inconveniences that made it inconvenient for everyday use. Its unique design includes a strappy ribbed collar and elasticized cuffs. Large, high-positioned, double-fold front pockets with snap closures. A cigarette pocket is also included on the left arm. The front zipper features a pull tab and an internal storm flap. Details of the original, such as the action pleats on the back that eliminate stress on arm movement, are faithfully reproduced.

It is made with high-density nylon taffeta on both sides so that it can be worn as lightly as a windbreaker.
